Edwinna Herrera was born and raised in New York City, the daughter of a family that left the Jim Crow South in search of freedom and opportunity. She raised two sons as a single mother, served 22 years as an NYPD Traffic Agent, and responded on September 11th to help her fellow New Yorkers. She earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from The College of New Rochelle, serves as a Chaplain in her local church, and has been deeply involved in her community—on
Community Board #12 and as a Building President in Co-op City. Now, she’s ready to bring that same commitment and strength to the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
